Accounts Assistant / Apprentice Requied

Due to continue growth and ever fast-pace needs of the business, our accounts department are recruiting a new junior member to the team. The ideal candidate would have a stong interest in numbers and data, very organised and methodical with the drive to suceed and progress. 

The role is being advertised and an assistant for those who are currently employed in a similar junior role or somone new to the world of work and look to take on a trainee / apprentice role. The course is fully funded for the right applicant and complete on the job training providied to give a healthy balance to the role.

Contract Won For Spitfire Homes

MJ Stevens have won the ceramic tiling contract for Spitfire Bespoke Homes at the prestigious development, Bay Green in Clevedon, Bristol. A new customer brings exciting expansion to the business recognising the high quality work we are undertaking for our clients and in a location where we are strong with wall and floor tilers.

Continued growth into the second half of the year is pushed forward by the hard work and efforts put into June, completing targets for our exisiting clients across the South West.

Portugal Golf Trip 2017

The 21st Annual Portugal Golf trip was a huge sucess, year on year, the enjoyment, sunshine and golfing skills grows. 17 attended this year, from clients across the patch; Bloor, Charles Church, McArthy & Stone, Persimmon and Wainhomes. We were supported by CCF, our main plasterboard supplier. This year's winner was Stuart.

Two Pride in the Job Awards for Pearce

A further two awards for Pearce in North Devon at Torrington and Northam, well done to Brett and Wayne. MJ Stevens have undertaken the drylining and rendering on these sites as part of the Besnard Plastering and Drylining acquisition.  A particular well done to Jason, our North Devon supervisor.

Pride in the Job Award in Exeter

The team at MJ Stevens have helped another client to a Pride in the Job Award. Dan Noakes of Great Woodcote Park in Exeter won this award with the support and quality of the site trades. .'MJ Stevens have had a strong impact on site and hugely contributed to this award with the multi-disciplines services' Dan said.

Operations Director Appointment

The first major appointment by Managing Director Louis Greenaway was in the newly formed position of Operations Director, Alan Knowles. Alan has taken on this role, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities but largely focusing on the service and quality proceedures for our clients.

This further installs Louis' vision in customer service and staff support. The strong structure at MJ Stevens has attracted staff from Apprentices to Contracts Managers with the knowledge there is belief in them as welll as the business and long carreer prospects.

Alan has vast experience in the industry, holding Director level positions for major house builders, but also working with smaller local firms. MJ Stevens have worked with him for many years over lots of projects in the South West within the trades we now offer. He will be out on site as well as visiting as many customers as he can whilst he settles in.

Exciting times continue for the business, recruiting staff at all levels for the ever growing nature of our business and to service our customers with the correct, quality labour we install on site.

Final Place on Drylining Apprenticeship

We have seen a huge demand in our drylining apprenticeship, a trade often forgotten when it comes to apprenticeships, but not this time. We have one place still available until we reach our full capacity this year. 'It is great to have received so many strong applications this year, and I am delighted we are able to offer people of all ages a start in the construction industry' says MD Louis Greenaway.

Carpenters Wanted

Due to continue growth MJ Stevens are recruiting Carpenters; timber framing, first second fix, finals and kitchen fitters. We have sites across the South West in Weston-Super-Mare, Taunton, Tiverton, Exeter, Ottery St. Mary, Teignmouth and Plymouth and so on. If you are CSCS carded and have worked on new build site work, please contact us as we have long lines of work available.

Drylining Apprentices Wanted

MJ Stevens are looking for drylining apprentices.

There are a limited number of spaces on the drylining course, we are recruiting candiates who are looking to start a career with a well established drylining and plastering company with a long career ahead of them. We are looking for Plasterboarding apprentices and Tape & Jointing apprentices starting this summer.

North Devon Business Acquisition

MJ Stevens Ltd have bought P Besnard Drylining and Plastering, an extremely well estabished Drylining and Plastering business in North Devon. Besnard's coming with a strong order book, fantastic reputation and vast labour force. 'This will further strengthen our position in North Devon and continue to provide a great service to many house builders and contractors in the area, an acquisition I am very proud of' said Managing Director, Louis Greenaway.

The hand over is fully operational allowing Peter Besnard to get his golf clubs out and start enjoying his retirement. Jason the supervisor for the area joins MJ Stevens and takes over the exisiting sites in the area. Currently working for Bovis, Barratt, Chichester, Elan, Halsall, Pearce and Wain amongst many others in the area.

We look forward to continue the growth in the area and make further additions to our other trades in North Devon.
